Delayed Surgery Date
On the rollercoaster of life, today was a ride full of unexpected twists and turns. My day, which was supposed to be centered around my upcoming surgery, took an interesting detour.
My mom, my rock, arrived a tad later than we had planned. Instead of heading straight to the hospital, we found ourselves on a spontaneous shopping spree at the mall. Our mission? To find the perfect, comfy shorts for my post-surgery recovery. Jackpot! We hit the clearance rack at JCPenney’s and scored three pairs of shorts.
Our next stop was Barro’s Pizza: a place that serves pizza so divine, it could only be described as ‘haute cuisine’. The friendly voice on the other end of the phone promised our gastronomic delight would be ready in about 25 minutes.
With time to spare, we decided to make a quick pit stop at Albertsons Grocery. We had a special delivery to make: some gifts from a kind-hearted colleague of my mom’s for my cousin’s newborn baby. However, our grocery run took a bit longer than anticipated, and we decided to head home instead of making the delivery.
Once home, we indulged in our delicious pizza and I unpacked my new shorts. My mom, ever the creative genius, showed me her latest creations: adorable Christmas Grinch ornaments made with her Cricuit machine. I’m constantly amazed by her creativity!
Just as we were settling in for the night, my phone rang. It was my surgeon. She had been unable to reach the plastic surgeon and needed to reschedule my surgery for Monday. So, there I was, lying in bed, listening to my favorite mix on Apple Music, processing the unexpected change in plans.
As the day drew to a close, I reflected on the strange turn of events. Tomorrow, I’ll be heading home with my mom’s friend. Life undeniably has a way of keeping things interesting!
